Cover to X-Force #18 by myself and Sonia Obacksagainstthewall.
This is an example of my having something in my head, only being able to give fragments of it to Sonia, and working together as a team to come up with the finished product. I don't think we would have been able to pull this off if we weren't able to look at the same screen and talk through it in detail.
I have a consistant theme going on my covers, which is that I love to incorporate reflections into the images. Off the top of my head I think I've done it on at least 5-6 covers, and this is fourth cover with X-23 as a reflection. They're just fun. Also, it makes me think I'm being so much smarter and imaginative when in the end it's just a cheapish trick to create depth and storytelling, and is usually murder on composition and angle.
Correction: Ha, X-23 is not the reflection, Wolverine is. Ah well, they're all the same, aren't they?
a few weeks ago, you wrote something about evolution. I think this cover illustrates your idea more than words. It does have a great impact on the reader.
lol They are the same person when you think about it. Though I do like X-23's foot blades. I don't think it's a cheap trick. If you can make it look good then no matter what you do is legitimate. You certainly made it look kick ass with this.

Observing your work for quite a long while (since the Witchblade run), I have to say - this is probably the very best you've done so far, both separately and on your own.
The original lineart and composition are truly deep, and not just thanks to the "reflecion idea" (which as a recurring theme of your art works really more than quite well).
And Sonia, too, did her best here, delivering us an eye candy I personally haven't seen for quite a while. All the textures and detail in this are quite outstanding.
There is one thing that seems a bit confusing about it, though - the glass itself. If I didn't know any better, I wouldn't be able to tell the shape it has (something between the classic glass tube and a rectangular tank). If I may suggest, adding a defined edge to it might solve the dilemma
Thank you very much for sharing in advance and keep up your work.
